Project Tasks & Key Activities
The PlantTip project is structured into five core tasks that build on each other to explore how societal tipping points can accelerate the shift to more plant-rich and sustainable diets in Denmark. Below is an overview of the project phases and key activities.
Task 1: Evidence Review & Capacity Building
Focus: Building a foundation of knowledge and stakeholder engagement.
Host the first national researcher workshop to consolidate current knowledge and build collaboration.
Conduct a systematic literature review of experimental and behavioural evidence on plant-rich dietary transitions.
Interview Danish food sector stakeholders to inform model inputs.
Initiate participatory modelling activities to gather practical insights.
Task 2: Pilot ABMs & Preparing Experiments
Focus: Early modelling and citizen insights.
Design and build pilot ABMs based on the reviewed evidence and stakeholder input.
Conduct citizen workshops in local areas to ensure context-specific modelling.
Identify data gaps in consumer behaviour and decision-making.
Host an international conference/workshop on modelling sustainability transitions.
Task 3: Generating Missing Consumer Data
Focus: Generating behavioural data through targeted experiments.
Conduct large-scale consumer experiments to test interventions.
Analyse data from experiments.
Host the second national researcher workshop to update the Danish research network.
Task 4: Advanced ABMs & Scenarios
Focus: Refining and stress-testing simulation models.
Refine agent-based models with new empirical data.
Conduct sensitivity analyses and in-silico scenario testing.
Simulate the effects of different interventions and social dynamics.
Task 5: Stakeholder Consultation & Societal Engagement
Focus: Translating scientific insights into practical strategies and actions.
Present findings to food sector stakeholders in a dedicated workshop.
Conduct a national survey assessing public acceptance of policy recommendations.
Organise citizen engagement activities, including local and national workshops with community leaders and civil society groups.
Develop and publish a final report with policy recommendations and a future research agenda.
Host the third and final national researcher workshop to consolidate knowledge and plan future collaborations.
